C'mon guys, were none of you alive in the 1970's or have your memories slipped? Jonathon Livingston Seagul with Neil Diamond in the ascendant, and with abundant decibels.

TAA's "Come Fly With Me".

That brilliant BBC doco on the the HMS Ark Royal with that gravel voiced Rod Stewart belting out "I am Sailing".

"Leaving on a Jet Plane" was not a bad earner for John Denver.

When Cole Porter intoned:

"I get no kick in a plane

Flying with some gal in the sky

Is my idea of nothing to do"

One wonders whether he had really been flying at all!!

Lryicists have made a good deal out of flying.

Hell yeah on Neil Diamond... first time I heard him I was flying.

Mind you, I was 'flying' on the ampuole of general anaesthetic that had just been shot into my, prior to the removal of my wisdom teeth. The surgeon then turned on his music and I was totally floored... I managed to ask who it was and do not remember much after that!

....but apparently the music cuts out when you transmit and when your radio picks up a transmission..

Correct.

The music is low enough to listen to it in the background. The radio is louder than the music and when you transmit the music cuts out, and comes back in when you close mic.

Compulsion...You don't have to have multi million dollar headsets to do it. 001_smile.gif.2cb759f06c4678ed4757932a99c02fa0.gif

I only just bought a set of Recreation Australia headphones so I will have to wait a while before I buy any more. Oh well i can always sing to myself with no one to listen to me. LOL Just have to remember not to push the button.

Albatross by Peter Green would make a good one, except for the nasty bird strike......

Manfred Mann's "Stranded in Iowa". Not perfectly accurate as to flying, but rather cool effects and use of weather transmissions...and the melody is the morse SOS!

Ironically enough, SRV (RIP) died while flying... in a helicopter on the way to the next show. I still remember where i was when I heard the news. :(
