Compulsion Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I have a grin from ear to ear tonight. I went solo today at Gawler. I had started to wonder if I was ever going to get there. That is the first hurdle now onward and upward. I can't wait to start navs. 4

Compulsion Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 My wife says I look like an idiot walking around with a big stupid grin. Someone said on here that you can hear your instructor in your ear while flying alone. I can say that that is true. Plus my instructor had a hand held so he could yell at me if I stuffed up. Lol
Guernsey Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Congratulations and well done. Who was your instructor and what aircraft were you flying ? Alan.
Eric McCandless Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Congratulations Compulsion. It's a great feeling isn't it.

J170 Owner Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Excellent! The beers (or milky bars) are on you! 1
Compulsion Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 I flew with Gary Williams in Jabiru 170 7385. It was really still except for a few bumps in the road coming over the freeway on 31. Thanks everyone for the congratulations. Yes Eric it is a great feeling. I really want to get to my nav's now.
Compulsion Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Hey J 170 owner. Happy to buy you a beer. When is the bar open.

Compulsion Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Thanks all. Eighty knots I love the picture. I am flying again this Friday and I must say I am a little apprehensive. That is good though because it will make me concentrate better.
Steve L Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Congratulations it will only get better from now, did you notice how quick they take to the sky when your solo, or were you like me too busy thinking ... wheres the instructor if you need him or her. haha! anyway what day are you putting the beers on Steve
Compulsion Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 Thanks Steve. I am still trying to find out when the bar is open at the Soaring Club. I am flying this Friday afternoon and doing my Air Ledge exam. Then flying again Saturday morning.
