Had two sessions of flying recently;

Today I took a good mate for a fly to the south of Marian (The hills are to the west of Sarina) and again the air was smooth. Also it gave him a break from his spitfire build. He was impressed with the Nynja and we discussed that the spitty will be faster and nippier :) I also made a place to secure my check list on the centre console.

Can't get enough airtime in the Nynja, 35 hours now since first flight. 080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

On Sunday last went for a Valentines Day flight with my wife in our Nynja and the air was rose petal smooth and Sandy enjoyed the flight and the scenery. The dam is Kinchant dam just to the south of Marian.

Yes looks very nice that Spitty...wouldn't mind being around when he fires her up and takes it for a spin...should sound very nice...

Hi All,

I had a lesson today at YRED and after the lesson a fellow student decided to take our CTMC up for a fly around Redcliffe and Bribie Is, it was a very nice flying day after some earlier showers, and being that I was a passenger I did what passengers do...I took some photo's....excuse the quality I used my phone camera...

I'm hoping to go, but we have well and truly hijacked this thread. We should start another thread for these other topics

Now were getting some rain that has halted flying a bit, so I have been fitting the spats. Got the nose wheel spat fitted and applied the colour striping. All going well I'll fit it on tomorrow afternoon. Next I'll do the main wheel ones and she should look good.

Fitted the nose wheel spat. Next to make time and fit the main wheel spats. Should look good

fully dressed with the spats. Also fitted the cargo hammock behind the seat so ready for a short

overnight trip, weather permitting, over Easter.

Looks like you are doing a nice job as usual. I like the spats on as I think they finish it off nicely. You should get another 2-3 knots at cruise. Greg.

But, you might be limited in off-airfield take-offs and landings?

Overnighted at Lakeside Airpark and the Nynja flew great as usual all the way at 5,000 rpm. Took a Jabiru and Lightwing pilot up for a local flight and they enjoyed the flight. Some images attached.

Didn't fly this weekend so did some more fitup of the main wheel spats and sized up the templetes for the stowage bin behind the seats were the fuel tank is sometimes placed if not fitting the wing tanks. The front of the bin is made perspex and the other sides and bottom in aluminium (first made in carboard to get the right sizes and clearance). Just need to fabricate up the outside brackets for the spats off the axles and they are ready for fitting when needed. Also fitted a USB outlet in the panel.

Great job fitting the spats mike!

Thanks Scott; as you know it thats a bit of deciding and checking where to make the cuts so the angle is what you want. I'd like to have them fitted fully, the bin finished and the USB wired by weekend after next so I can load it up with my camping gear for Old Station.

Cheers

At the risk of hijacking your thread Mike, we are also hoping to make OS this year...Did I mention that we're flying out to Ayers Rock first? Heading off Saturday, weather permitting.

Enjoy and good light wind / weather. I'll be envious as on my virtual whiteboard I have * finish off main spats axle mounting, * wire up and c/b for USB outlet, * Fabricate and fit parcel bin, fit in a 42 minute flight then oil / filter change etc, (50 hours) * 50 hour inspection of Nynja. I've got Friday to Tuesday inclusive off so should go close to all on the list; if not all, won't be too much left to do. (All going well of course.)

Cheers

The Nynja now has 60 hours on the Hobbs and has had two oil filter etc changes (25 and 50 hrs) and its 25 and 50 hourly service / inspections. Recently went to the Old Station fly in and had a great trip down and a top air display and turnup of visiting planes and pilots and interested people.

Today I had planned a flight to Ayr as the weather up here in northern Queensland was the typical early winter with clear skies, light wind and thin morning fog. The flight was from Marian to Ayr to pick up my son who is down from Cairns and working in Ayr at the moment. Had a quick 1.5 hour direct flight up and did a 2.2 hour return seeing the sights along the way. Smooth all the way so a great first fly in the Nynja for my son. Even the four live (tied up) mud crabs in the baggage didn't seem to mind the flight. Hope those who flew today had nice conditions. The Nynja is great to fly and tour around with a great turn of speed usually at 92 to 95 kts easily and a good range with the wing tanks.

Cheers

Mike
