Underwood Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Brendan, the Bypass is not to allow normal operation via the mechanical pump when the facet pump is turned off but rather to allow an alternate path for fuel delivery should the Facet pump fail in a manner that it became blocked I don't know of any reports that a Facet pump has failed closed though and had about 500 hours on a previous aircraft with an inline facet and no bypass so admittedly the bypass is possibly entirely superfluous 1 2
Blueadventures Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Finally happening; started work to fit 600kg upgrade brackets and brace wire into wings today. Drained fuel, disconnected aileron cable and removed ailerons. More planned for tomorrow afternoon. Should have wings ready to come off for Saturday afternoon then the fun / work begins. Doing mate Ben’s was a good experience and a couple of comments from Paul at Flylight about some update refinements they do all helps. 2 1
Blueadventures Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Ready for wings off tomorrow, all bolts backed off or nuts removed. first one at least. Had a visitor in the hangar today. Zoom in and see it looking at me; maybe smiling for the photo. I don’t like snakes. 2
Moneybox Posted Thursday at 01:24 AM Posted Thursday at 01:24 AM Poor old snakes get a raw deal don't they. He was probably looking for rats or mice and there are very few snake bites if they are tampered with.
onetrack Posted Thursday at 01:32 AM Posted Thursday at 01:32 AM Tell that to the people who've been bitten by snakes! A farmer client was walking around one of his paddocks, picking up stray rocks and roots in preparation for seeding. He reached down amongst rye grass plants about 300mm high to pick up a stray mallee root, and a dugite lunged out and bit him! He was extremely wary of any long grass after that episode! He said he never even saw the snake, it just "came out of nowhere". 2 1

Was not a killer if bitten so a hangar pet. Got one wing finished today. Just need a suitable time next few days to put back on and get the other wing off. Added an update of plastic sheet to fill out the inner section where we get a wrinkle effect, worked well. Fitted new fuel contents tube while had things apart. Got the 0.8mm sheet from office works. Edited Thursday at 09:51 PM by Blueadventures 1
onetrack Posted Friday at 11:18 PM Posted Friday at 11:18 PM So, this is great news! We now have Officeworks Aerospace, as an additional supplier for aviation products, along with Bunnings Aerospace? 😄 1

How would a rans s6 compare to your aircraft. They look like a similar style. I know of an s6 that will be available later in the year with all new ultralam skins. 912 uls. 1
