Underwood Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Brendan, the Bypass is not to allow normal operation via the mechanical pump when the facet pump is turned off but rather to allow an alternate path for fuel delivery should the Facet pump fail in a manner that it became blocked I don't know of any reports that a Facet pump has failed closed though and had about 500 hours on a previous aircraft with an inline facet and no bypass so admittedly the bypass is possibly entirely superfluous 1 2
Blueadventures Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Finally happening; started work to fit 600kg upgrade brackets and brace wire into wings today. Drained fuel, disconnected aileron cable and removed ailerons. More planned for tomorrow afternoon. Should have wings ready to come off for Saturday afternoon then the fun / work begins. Doing mate Ben’s was a good experience and a couple of comments from Paul at Flylight about some update refinements they do all helps. 2 1
Blueadventures Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Ready for wings off tomorrow, all bolts backed off or nuts removed. first one at least. Had a visitor in the hangar today. Zoom in and see it looking at me; maybe smiling for the photo. I don’t like snakes. 2
Moneybox Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Poor old snakes get a raw deal don't they. He was probably looking for rats or mice and there are very few snake bites if they are tampered with.
onetrack Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Tell that to the people who've been bitten by snakes! A farmer client was walking around one of his paddocks, picking up stray rocks and roots in preparation for seeding. He reached down amongst rye grass plants about 300mm high to pick up a stray mallee root, and a dugite lunged out and bit him! He was extremely wary of any long grass after that episode! He said he never even saw the snake, it just "came out of nowhere". 2 1

Was not a killer if bitten so a hangar pet. Got one wing finished today. Just need a suitable time next few days to put back on and get the other wing off. Added an update of plastic sheet to fill out the inner section where we get a wrinkle effect, worked well. Fitted new fuel contents tube while had things apart. Edited March 6 by Blueadventures 5

onetrack Posted March 7 Posted March 7 So, this is great news! We now have Officeworks Aerospace, as an additional supplier for aviation products, along with Bunnings Aerospace? 😄 1

How would a rans s6 compare to your aircraft. They look like a similar style. I know of an s6 that will be available later in the year with all new ultralam skins. 912 uls. 1

Blueadventures Posted Thursday at 04:43 AM Posted Thursday at 04:43 AM (edited) Finished the installation of the 600kg upgrade parts yesterday. Set the flap and aileron adjustments. Having a break today then do a recheck and ask a mate to do a double preflight check over. Then perform a new weight and balance. Next fill the tanks and take her up. Need the rain to back off for a short period; looks like the rain has set in for at least another week (it is our wet cyclone season this time of year). Blueadventures Posted Sunday at 03:02 AM Posted Sunday at 03:02 AM (edited) Getting ready to weigh tomorrow. Just need all items and engine oil out. Nynja at it’s level orientation for weighing. Edited Sunday at 03:03 AM by Blueadventures 3 1
Underwood Posted Sunday at 11:20 AM Posted Sunday at 11:20 AM Looking good BA. There are quite a few 600kg Nynjas over here now and the owners seem well pleased with them. I'm staying with the 472kg limit as I rarely fly with a passenger and rarely end up unable to get fuel. A pair of jerry cans in place of a passenger are carried when needed. Be interesting to read what your ZFW ends up as.
Blueadventures Posted yesterday at 06:13 AM Posted yesterday at 06:13 AM (edited) Weighing today came in at 312.6kg had 2 litres of fuel in collector tank and oil in engine. If I had checked that I would have drain it. I had taken the plane of its blocks so unable to re weigh, may do it again. Collector tank is on Stb side just behind main wheel. Have sent an email to Jarrod at RAAus to ask about w&b method of approval. Edited yesterday at 06:14 AM by Blueadventures 1

Thanks I'll wait for a reply from RAAus, likely be busy with Avalon being soon. (Reply message says up to 10 days.) Weather too ordinary to fly and helping a mate with a reskin and replace new lexan in some areas on his Nynja so will wait for a reply. I'll reweigh just need someone to fit the blocks as I lift the wing and nose. Ony have to unpack the repacked the onboard gear.
facthunter Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Push the Tail down is the easiest way to lift the Nose. Lift near the strut attach point (carefully). Nev
