eightyknots
Hi 80 Bill has a mould for it. It was made by the previous owner. Let me know if you ever need close up images and measurements etc. made in fibreglass. Cheers. I would love some close up pictures, an idea of the extra weight and the approximate cost of the unit. eightyknots
Unfortunately, the picture of the Savannah is a bit blurry. A better picture would be appreciated. From what I can see, Bill's belly pod looks more streamlined (or less agricultural) compared to the ICP factory unit. Also, the factory belly pod is not available for the Savannah S. Hi 80 Bill has been away with his Sav so I've been unable to get the better images and size etc. I won't see him this weekend so will be a couple of weeks before I get the info. Cheers. It would be nice to get further details one day such as the weight, cost, how this attached, etc.

Blueadventures
Fitted in a nice fly before the next hit of rain, 1.1 hours of delightful flying up the valley and out to the coast and back. Hope for same this weekend. https://youtu.be/ClBnVHU4K4I Edited November 13, 2020 by Blueadventures
Blueadventures
Did a change out of the fuel line between the electric fuel pump and the through fire wall connector (5 years and the gates hose was still soft and pliable - good USA quality); planned to fit a fuel tap valve at this time as only fuel valves were before the inline filters and the collector tanks; so when they were turned off still had 6.25 litres to go. Also made it hard to service gasalator; did a check of it while the tap valve fitted; passed. All good now. Did a 6 minute engine run and will do a check fly to verify no leaks and then will seal fire sleeve ends and place signage for tap valve open and closed and stick on floor beside it. Blueadventures
Fitted in an early morning flight in the Nynja for just over the hour out to the coast for a look around after fitting the new fuel hose and valve tap at the electric fuel pump outlet. Have 258 hours up now and still enjoy flying her. Looking forward to doing a trip sometime in the future. Landed back by 0730 hrs and off to work. The air was nice and just a light 10 knot cross wind for the landing. Marian is the sugar mill steam and Cape Hillsborough just north of Mackay is the headland and Mt Blackwood has the tower on its top.
Blueadventures
Took the Nynja to the beach today and caught up with some flying friends. The weather was a 15 knots and the tide was out and the sand hard which made a perfect LZ. Also a mates had his new Skyranger there and it was nice to see every one and meet a couple of new people. https://youtu.be/smUn56XghYA 4 1
Blueadventures
Fitted in a quick fly yesterday and would have liked to stay up longer but had the usual things to do. At the top the aileron trim catch for the wire is visible as I had it fitted yesterday.
Garfly
How does that work, Mike? And how do you find it it so far? Does anyone you know of have rudder trim on Skyranger types?
Blueadventures
At time people ask what is the speeds of the Skyranger Nynja so I did a video on Sunday. Cruise at 5,000 rpm DUC propeller at 95Kts and at 5,500 rpm 105 knots.
Blueadventures
Recent landing at home airstrip. Started 1000 foot above usual and did a bit of side slipping to scrub some height. Also getting the feel of a 50 knot base to final. Edited April 21, 2021 by Blueadventures 1
Garfly
Hey Mike, a great shot of a nice approach and landing. When I've practiced forward slipping in my Skyranger I notice that the old-style one-piece door seems a bit unhappy with the side-on wind forces. I think your two piece door set-up is a more robust - as well as more convenient - arrangement. BTW when you say 'getting used to a 50 KT base to final turn', what did you aim at previously?

Usually 55 or just under base and slow late final. You will see the nose moving up and down a bit after mains on, just nose wheel light on with elevator up as speed decays. I’ll be making up 2 of the aileron trim clips next couple of weeks so if you want one I cab post to you. Cheers.
Blueadventures
Had a nice fly this morning up to the Whitsundays after the completing the annual service on the Nynja. No surprises just a few tightenups an some minor changes. Good air speed at 5,000 rpm and wot is 5,600 rpm so a bit up the sleeve. Ready for a trip to Childers. All good and clear skies. 20210915_105910.mp4 6
Blueadventures
New set of rubber arrived from Wagga Bike tyres, great to deal with Fred who answered my questions about suitable tyre choices. Settled on the new type the factory recommend Mitas 66L and similar dimensions to the original SAVA just a better improved tyre and better load carrying for when I finish the upgrade to 600kG from the present 540kG. Will fit in new year so looking forward to then. Cheers. Edited November 11, 2021 by Blueadventures 3
Mike Gearon
Nynja arrived French Island. Finally! 2 days with Vince getting sorted at Inverell then flew to Dan at Wings Out West WOW as a mid point check of pilot, aircraft and weather then on to Temora. Weather wasn’t great so 2 nights at Temora. Great place for a stopover with the museum and accomodation. 30 minute walk to town then taxi back with provisions. Glider flying there in future for sure! After checking with the museum test pilot that a flight west then south to clear the weather wasn’t a crazy idea I flew out. Eventually found a higher cloud ceiling. Aircraft is a pleasure to fly. First half of trip just trimmed out and hands off. From Temora winds meant constant stick pressure. Side slip skills increasing out of necessity. 5 landings so far and all needed slip from 500ft AGL on final. I’ll slow more on final next flight as discussed with one of the Nynja owners. Last 2 pics getting ground anchors in to leave aircraft outside and weld in roof support to cut out a beam where the tail wants to be.

Blueadventures
Ticked off the first fly in the Nynja for '22 and then serviced the rescued BBQ so it's ready for a test fly soon. Now have 300.2 hours of enjoyable flights. 3
Blueadventures
Had another nice fly on Saturday morning out to the coast. At end on month I'll do the engine service and fit the new tyre / tube sets. Went for the new style in similar size to the originals just a bit thicker on the ply. Purchased for Wagga bike and tyres great to deal with and helps answer my questions. Cheers.
