Blueadventures Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) Images of E-prop flight on 20 April 2022 also my rat catching hangar snake resting on the door panel. Image of 4,600rpm and 87 kts and 5,250 rpm and ASI on its way to 108 kts (reading lower due to when image taken. Needed to adjust rudder bungee as I needed to input right rudder a bit, slip ball to right a little. Edited April 21, 2022 by Blueadventures 2 1 2
Thruster88 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 With data from your instruments and assuming air temp of 25°C yields a true airspeed of 115knots at 5250rpm. That is super impressive for that style of aircraft. 1

That is super impressive for that style of aircraft. Hi Thruster88 They are a nice bird to fly and I enjoy it and can handle it well. (I was crap at landing my previous Skyfox taildragger and have no issues in Drifters.) Back to speed; I pretty much work off IAS and GS on the ipad and usually fly under 4,500 and never really been over 7,500. (Been higher in my Blanik L131-A glider in the past.) I'll work the approximate TAS calculations as never doing trips longer than 4 hours legs (not far at a 90 plus cruise speed). A memory aide is plus 3 kts every 1,000 feet I'm at above 3,000 ft. (Bit like the gliding rough rule for temperature drop per 1,000 ft.) At the end if the day an happy doing between 0.135 and 0.170 MACH:) WE have crap weather up here set in until end of next week at least. So will get to the hangar and decrease the pitch, adjust the rudder trim bungee and do a new w&b (although not much difference in weight of the DUC but good for loading the next trip away. Cheers 2 1

Blueadventures Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 A flight with the Nynja that had fog forming over the land to meet the low cloud due to the moist sea air meeting with the cooler land air. Was ok being right on the coast line but not nice if over land and no visible suitable landing areas. Its a bit longer than I wanted but also wanted to show the different sky. First use of the editing programme and it was easy to use. Hope you enjoy. 1
red750 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 The Wondershare banner across the video says "free plan". I guess that's the download trial version and the banner is removed on paid version?

Correct Red, I had been looking on and off for a suitable editing programme since GoPro Studio was discontinued plus it was a bit difficult to use. Was at a mates place yesterday and asked him what he was using. I downloaded the trial version and found it an easy to use editor. Will try a couple of holiday videos tonight to splice into one. Haven't bought the full version yet and thought it may be helpful to others wanting to edit videos and add comments etc. 1
Blueadventures Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 For info; after adjusting the E-prop and any other prop pitch I check and make final adjustment with my laser pointer pen fitted on my pitch adjuster. The distance between the dots means that pitch is within 0.09 (less than 0.1 and the manual asks for within maximum 0.3 degree so close enough for the second pitch adjustment trail. All good now at 24.5 degrees so will fly this for a while. 1
Blueadventures Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Flew the Nynja to Old Station Flyin during late May 2022. The E-Prop performed well. 1 1
Mike Gearon Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 Well, that out a smile on my face. Really enjoyed. Missing Australia and that little slice of Nynja flying heaven was really cool! Nice to see Old station as well and what goes on. 1
Blueadventures Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Some assorted images of bits of my build. Grey coloured coolant pipes from Flylight, 2 one each side in alloy Nose wheel dolly Parcel box behind seats document holder beside console both sides Alloy tube support under door sill access to rudder bungee, alloy inspection ports from an old Blanik glider wing I had, makes access easy and quick to open and close. 3 1
Kyle Communications Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Those alloy water pipes would be perfect for Savannahs..the radiator pipes is crap as std. I have had to make my own solutions on the original and of course on Mabel

Would be a good addition to the Savannah parts inventory. Posted the items for build info to enhance the sites information. Edited July 3, 2022 by Blueadventures 1 1
Kyle Communications Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 The rear waterpump outlet do you have a different fitting?..or do you just use a flex pipe to go from the pump to the alu pipe

The alloy pipe just reduces the length of hose that is a cost saving over time and more rigid over the length. The pipes are bent specific for this location of the radiator although mine is mounted to engine and the usual Nynja fit is to the cowl also like what the Lightwings do; makes more work to remove the lower cowl for access. Cheers. Edited July 4, 2022 by Blueadventures
Blueadventures Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Todays flight along the coast to the north of Mackay; 1.6 hours total in the glorious winter weather, 4 days ago and earlier it was crap weather. Landed at a friends airstrip and meet up with 3 local trike flyers. 2 2 1
Mike Gearon Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Nice! Enjoyed seeing the short field take off, coastal view and landing. TDZ further in is good practice. Thanks for sharing. Note… my/ Vince’s Nynja should be up there now or soon. Ferry pilot bringing to Lismore when the weather is good. 1
Blueadventures Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 (edited) Changed out the remaining two radiator hoses to 25mm id silicone elbows and replaced the coolant so a quick 36 minute lap around the block to check the hoses are secure and coolant level correct. A little bumpy as down at 1,500 feet. Nice otherwise so now ready for a bit of a trip. Also trying the Gopro on the super wide angle setting. 1894114933_26July2022.mp4 Edited July 26, 2022 by Blueadventures 8
Blueadventures Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 Great weather today, however no flying as finally good for some diving on the coast. Needed to get some fish so I can put on a nice fish meal for some flyin visitors. No flying either again tomorrow as will go diving. Real shame to miss good flying weather but good diving conditions on the coast is rarer. Hope the Nynja understands 🙃🙂 3 2
Blueadventures Posted August 8, 2022 Posted August 8, 2022 Images of radiator and oil cooler brackets to save having the units attached to the lower cowl as shown in the build manual as it makes removal of lower cowl very easy and quick. Most are 3mm by 25mm alloy flat bar. The 90 degree elbows on the oil cooler are Rotax part number 924-5 3 1

Nev 17 minutes ago, facthunter said: Where are "THINGS" that usually eat those fish? Nev There like red back spiders and snakes they don't run you down and eat you. Plus don't have the fish shaking in pain in the water; that's like ringing the dinner bell. Blood in water not so bad. Cheers, also got none the next day at another new area, should have went back to the day before. 1 1
