cooperplace Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 the Adelaide Advertiser is reporting: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/light-plane-makes-emergency-landing-at-gawler/story-e6frea83-1226456009598 that at about 3.30 today a light plane made an emergency landing near Gawler and that the 2 occupants, men, one in his 50s, the other his 60s, suffered minor injuries. Does anyone know anything about this? The main thing is they seem to be OK.
Compulsion Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Please not 7314. At least according to the report everyone is fine. Aircraft can be replaced but people can,t.
winsor68 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Didn't they have one not long ago too? Not good news.
Compulsion Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Just watched the news and it wasn't a Jab. Practicing and lost control they said. I didn't recognize the aircraft. At least the 2 onboard are fine. Aircraft looked bad though.
J170 Owner Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 It was a Savannah, but I could not see the call sign.
flyerme Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 They were from Adelaide gliding club.Practicing forced landings when they were hit by a severe wind gust and where unable to maintain control. No option but to follow with a real forced landing in a paddock. I don,t know any other details: and can only speculate the engine may have been switched off? or to low and slow for power to be applied? they both are alright and thats the main thing.
