Well, I've never been in a glider, nor have I had the yen to but that video has changed my mind. Beautiful. So graceful and sleek in the air if ungainly on the ground. Dropping the water ballast (I presume) makes them look jet powered. Brilliant.

I love the grace and beauty of the gliders. TheWilga's on the other hand are a bit on the ugly side.

I've never seen a Wilga in the "metal" but I think they have a type of utilitarian beauty. From what I understand they are well liked by their pilots. Does anybody know how many there are in Australia?

Jim Fenton used to have a Wilga at Boonah back in early nineties (from memory, I get CRAFT sometimes ).It was a great performer.
