Guest Escadrille Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Does any one have any details on the aircraft that crashed at Warwick on the weekend. Apparently noone was hurt thankfully!
fly_tornado Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 you don't read the local rag? I was going to go but the wind in town was 15-20knots I decided to give it a miss http://www.thechronicle.com.au/story/2012/09/08/close-call-crash-landed-pilot/
facthunter Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 You'll have to change your avatar to fly under 15 Knots. Nev 2
fly_tornado Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I have been a fair weather flyer for a while. Warwick can be nippy in spring as well. 1
Tomo Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 What type of aircraft was it, does anyone know?
fly_tornado Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 warwick is famous for its wind shear on final.
facthunter Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 M2..That may not necessarily narrow the field much. Nev

gregrobertson Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 It was very windy at Warwick on Saturday and it is not an easy strip to handle when there is a strong wind from the south. At least we using 27, 09 is even worse. I believe it was a Super petrel that came to grief. It happened before I got there so I am relying on what I was told. Greg
