Sapphire Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Normal people believe if it ain't broke don't fix it Engineers believe if it ain't broke it doesn't have enough features yet 1
Sapphire Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 To an engineer, if it's broken it's been sufficiently engineered. The graduate with a science degree asks why does it work? The graduate with an engineering degree asks how does it work? The graduate with an accounting degree asks how much does it cost? The graduate with a liberal arts degree asks "do you want fries with that" 3

M61A1 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Pessimist- Glass half empty. Optimist - Glass half full. Engineer- Glass is twice as big as it needs to be. 1
Guest aussieaviatrix Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 As an engineering student, I can totally relate!!
Guest aussieaviatrix Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 In an Exam - Q. - Prove that 2+2=0. Art student - this question is out of syllabus. Commerce student - problem is not well defined. Doctor - research in progress but no result found. Engineering student - it is so simple... 2+2=0 two+two=0 tw(0+0)=0 if tw=0 than 0+0=0 0=0 ENGINEERS ARE INCREDIBLE !
Sapphire Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 Flying is too much hard work-we need more of this Three guys are condemmed to die by the guillotine The first one the blade gets stuck half way and he is free to go The second one the blade gets stuck again and he is free to go The third one [an engineer] before they drop the blade he yells, "wait I know what's wrong"
rgmwa Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Pessimist- Glass half empty.Optimist - Glass half full. Engineer- Glass is twice as big as it needs to be. That must be a mechanical engineer talking. We structural engineers would say you can fit twice as much in. rgmwa
M61A1 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 That's must be a mechanical engineer talking. We structural engineers would say you can fit twice as much in. rgmwa Aircraft engineers think that way (bigger than it needs to be). To reach the point, where you can't take anything more away to make it lighter, and to add anything would be unnecessary.
Guest Maj Millard Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Aircraft engineer : The lighter an aircraft is, the stronger it is. It takes a lot less Gs to break a heavier one........Maj...
Wayne T Mathews Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Aircraft engineer : The lighter an aircraft is, the stronger it is. It takes a lot less Gs to break a heavier one........Maj... This is along the line that argues little boats are stronger and safer than big ships. If you doubt little boats are stronger and safer, have a look at the little boats people get into when the big ship gets into trouble... 2
