Kyle Communications Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I actually thought that this was a rebuild. Its NOT...The guy has built it from scratch using just plans he chased all over the world for. He had to build the molds to form the plywood
Mick Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I actually thought that this was a rebuild. Its NOT...The guy has built it from scratch using just plans he chased all over the world for. He had to build the molds to form the plywood All the wood is new, but I think you will find alot of the non-wooden components ( ie undercarriage, engine mounts etc ) are original & restored / refurbished. It does blur the line between restoration & re-creation. Either way it is great to see one back in the air.
Gentreau Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 I actually thought that this was a rebuild. Its NOT...The guy has built it from scratch using just plans he chased all over the world for. He had to build the molds to form the plywood If you take a look at their website at http://www.warbirdrestoration.co.nz/current.html#ka114 you can see the state the aircraft was in before they started restoration. The 75% Mosquito in France was definitely built from plans and from scratch.
