Louis Moore Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 A Bristol Beaufighter would do just nicely ! (or most of the things picture in this thread so far !!) There have been some really awesome suggestion so far, but IanR's is among the best (although I am a little disappointed that Kaz has not jumped in with Auster seeing as I did not defend it in my first post, which I should have! ). I always dreamed of owning a Beaufighter when I was younger. I figured it would be a far better way to destroy your eardrums than listening to load DUF DUF music. There a true a beast that have that odd talent of appearing both brutish yet sport's car elegant all in one. I'll take too, one for me and for Tomo to do formation work next to me in!!! (would need some good photo's of it in flight, so I think is reasonable.) 2

boingk Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Sopwith Camel Yakovlev 9U I-16 Rata I'd love any of them, and apparently there is a Rotec radial-powered I-16 somewhere that somone has made for themselves. Speaking of which, the Camel had better be powered by the Rotex job as well... don't think the consumption of Castor oil would be particularly cost effective. For the moment, I'm looking at a Preceptor N3 Pup; a half-VW powered, 3/4 size, single seat Piper J3. Cheers - boingk 1
Tomo Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Always wanted to fly a Spitfire, so I guess I wouldn't mind one of them sitting in the hangar... may as well get two of them too so Louis can fly in formation with me... 1

Tomo! How many times do I need to remind you that it should be a Hurricane??
Mick Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 But look how ugly the Hurricane is!!! Watch it Tomo, thems fighting words!!! The Spitfire might be pretty but it's just a glory grabber. Granted the Hurricane is not as pretty but ugly is harsh. 2
Guest aussieaviatrix Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 But look how ugly the Hurricane is!!! Where's a dislike button when I need it?? Not even, it's beautiful! [insert love-heart emoticon here.]
Tomo Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Not even, it's beautiful! Goodness, if the Hurricane is beautiful, what does that make me?!
Guest aussieaviatrix Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Goodness, if the Hurricane is beautiful, what does that make me?! Don't ask!

Bryon Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I was in the UK in 1979 and had the opportunity to access this aicraft It is a Spitfire Mk1 in original condition and saw service during the BoB I was allowed to sit in the cockpit, close the hood, lower the seat and have the flight of my life (in my mind) It didnt bloody work................. 1
Bryon Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 To tell the truth, if I had my druthers (old timers term) I would love to have four aicraft in my hangar And in no particular order of merit, here they are Mkix Spitfire Mk11 Hurricane Mosquito and Lancaster I would be in heaven....... 1

flyvulcan Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I got to sit in an original Me163 when based at Point Cook many decades ago (that aircraft is now in the War Memorial Canberra). It was a very cool aircraft! I want one!
