Shute Harbour landing video

YSHR runway 14 approach and landing, for your entertainment pleasure -

 

Pre-empting some questions:

 

1) yes, it was that turbulent, not me playing around

 

2) the video stop/start is problem with speed of the SD card being used

 

3) left of centreline final approach is recommended approach by YSHR

What about the approach angle? Looked rather flat, or was it just the camera angle?

 

Looks like a very interesting airport, had to have a look via Google!

You weren't kidding! Looks like a really nice place though.

Yeah, I could (should) have been higher as there was lots of sink, but the video does make it appear flatter than it was.

You need a class 10 sd card for video...class 4 is probably what you have in the camera which is a std one thats why it keeps stopping

That didn't look too bad Steve, I tend to approach a bit to the right of your track although your approach is the standard dog-leg recommended for Shute. You'll always get sink over funnel bay, and often more than you want at times requiring some power. Looked like Tango one of our amphib Caravans as you turned off, and a Beaver ahead at the pumps...................Cheers Maj...
