Guest john Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 The very latest branding idea from Saatchi & Saatchi in New Zealand was their "OUR AUCKLAND BIG A CAMPAIGN". The idea was to foster civic pride in that fine city by encouraging residents to greet each other in the form of "A"made by joining the thumbs & fingers of both hands. The campaign was abandoned soon after when they received complaints from the Deaf Association of New Zealand & various womens groups saying it was not only the internationally recognised hand sign used by the deaf population for "VAGINA", but also very like the sign language for "AIDS"& "UP YOUR ASS".
Admin Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 My wife Corrine use to work for Saatchi & Saatchi in Auckland...I had many a great night in their bar drinking to the wee hours of the morning. I remember one early afternoon ringing Corrine at work and she wasn't at her desk. The person who answered her phone told me that someone in the office felt like a Banana Dackery, so they basically closed the office and were all up in the bar making drinks
nomadpete Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Remind me not to attempt using sign language to pick up a girl in a bar.... It could go horribly wrong.
