Maybe he would have got off the ground quicker if he'd had the wheels up before he started his roll. He used ALL of the runway!!

Must have been very keen to leave the place. A lot of strain on the undercarriage and engines don't like mud or a lot of water in the engine or hitting the prop. Damage would have been done to the props. Nev

Very lucky that the second half of the runway did not have as much mud, otherwise could have been real messy, me thinks!!!

To me it looked as if it was just as muddy as the first half of the runway, he just got enough speed to get some lift and offloaded the wheels a bit.
