Guest john Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Can anyone inform me about the current status with this type aircraft as to when it will be legal to fly again & will it be 19 or 24 registered, as I am proposing to buy one , as they are a safe & reliable aircraft, but will only proceed with consideration of a transaction once certainty has been determined by RAAus & CASA as to its airworthiness future in Australia. Some weeks ago I wrote to RAAus requesting them to advise me what airworthiness documentation they have on file & to date I have sore hands from sitting on them & am out of breath waiting. Maybe they are to busy with all of their other legal matters before them, or maybe they have round filed my written request (ie. chucked it in the bin) However I still wait in hope.
Guernsey Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 A direct telephone call to the Operations Manager then get him to confirm his reply in writing , then let us know the outcome on this forum. Worth a try. Alan.

You have received nothing by way of reply?
Mick Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 RAAus is unlikely to be handing out info about this issue to anyone who is not directly involved, ie an Ibis owner. I would suggest that you get in contact with Russell at Pacific Ibis. No one on this forum is going to know more about this or have more up to date info than Russell.

I have spoken to Russell & unfortunatly he knows as much as you & I. RAAus are the ones who have initially approved this type of aircraft onto the RAAus register & have got themselves in the shit over this matter, & therefore they are the only ones who can give an authoritave answer about the future of this type aircraft in Oz . There is no point in talking to the "Donkey" when you have to talk to the "Horse", however the horses mouth is shut at present
turboplanner Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 "An owner of an Ibis aircraft has indicated that a mega dollar class action writ is in the process of being issued on RAAus in the near future for their negligence & incompetence regarding this matter." John, this is your quote from the original "Pacific Ibis Grounding" thread. Why a new identically worded thread? Why wasn't the above thread carried out?
