fly_tornado Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I was walking up to the shops a bit after 9 and a T28 was cruising around Toowoomba? not there now but that doesn't mean much
Tomo Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Ah man... too close to home, not that it makes much difference but still!!
cscotthendry Posted November 3, 2012 Author Posted November 3, 2012 Apparently it was a P51 replica. EFATO from witness statements. From the map in the CM it looks like he took off from Emu gully.
fly_tornado Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 confirmation of the identity of the pilot http://www.thechronicle.com.au/news/pilot-believed-dead-after-emu-gully-crash/1608256/
Kyle Communications Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 My condolences to his family...that mustang was georgous
Teckair Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 What terrible news we have lost an extraordinary achiever in the sporting aviation world.
seb7701 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Unbelievable to lose such an experienced flyer and builder of such awesome replicas. Tragic to say the least.
dunlopdangler Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I'm devastated, Terry would fly one of his replicas to the opening of an envelope. Supported me with our Dalby Wings &Wheels. Another sad day for us all... He will be missed!!
GAFA Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 The crash occurred at the entrance to one of my relatives property (the boarding kennels next to the airstrip). One relative received 3rd degree burns on their legs while trying to free the pilot. RIP Terry.
Pilot Pete Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Terry was a great bloke and the Air and Land Spectacular held at Emu Gully will be different without him. I've enjoyed talking with him and looking over his aircraft when I've had the chance. I'm saddend that his daughters have lost a father and that aviation has lost a patriot. To those of you who have shared his passion and spent time with him at his hanger working on and helping him with his planes will feel his loss greatly and indeed have lost a friend.
Pilot Pete Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Terry's funeral to be held on Friday 16 at Humeridge Church of Christ, Hume Street, Toowoomba at 1:30 pm. 1
