Yeah. While I'm all for free speech and a wide range of topics, I can't see how this thread advances us. Why wasn't the question, "Are you a (Muslim/Budhist/Hindu/Liberal/Labor .....?)

Yes I am all of those, nothing like sitting on the fence, well except maybe the Labor part!022_wink.gif.2137519eeebfc3acb3315da062b6b1c1.gif

Now back to topic...

From what I see there doesn't seem to be a lot of young people amongst the Mason ranks, most of the Masons I have ever met have been well over 60, can't bode well for continuing the traditions!

The same could be said for Apex, Rotary, Lions and probably a heap of others. Even scouting, of which I was involved in for a number of years, had a disproportionately high number of older leaders.

Now that we have rumoured about the Masons, perhaps it is time to move on. I wonder how many of the board members are commies? 029_crazy.gif.9816c6ae32645165a9f09f734746de5f.gif

Well, I think there was a reason for the question. I think the question is loaded.

The WA member is also I believe.

The question has been asked because of an alleged 'code' among Masons where it would be inappropriate for a fellow Mason to vote against another.

Put that into the context of the CEO needing to move on because of performance reasons or the Board deliberating on his salary increase. Ask yourself ... would the voting be impartial and based on merit with that many Masons on the Board ... personally I doubt it. Strange the numbers on the Board for and against the CEO's salary increase? Ask for the motion records on who voted for who ... I am sure it would be interesting and perhaps enlightening.

Do you think I am rumour mongering ... well go ask the questions. If you don't want to ... go ahead and stick your head in the sand ...

[That is probably only because you wore satin pyjamas, goats are slippery enough to ride without making it hard for yourself!]

I suppose riding the goats was okay, as long as there was no kissing?

Just for the record David - I never would have thought you a rumour monger. I just figure the issues run much deeper than any affiliations like Masons. But if that is happening as you describe then obviously things become even more messy. I'm still concerned about communists though!

I think you (respectfully) Are barking up the wrong tree The police, military and others less identifiable are inclined to close ranks when threatened. The CEO was supported when he shouldn't have been. Some sort of misguided loyalty is evident there. If you try to find a link as has been suggested,.. we are in trouble . where does this sort of witch hunt end. Tizzard was the wrong person for the job. So was the previous CEO. Robbie Costmeier. The turnover of "techmen" has been formidable each one leaving under rancorous circumstances. Are they made to be the "FALL" guys? Certainly they operate in their own "world". How would Tizzard be expected to know more than the "Techman" who is a specialist in his own field about the way he is doing his job. Though with Tizzards background he could have been part of the way. I'm sure that all the "techmen" that I have dealt with would not have resisted a friendly visit and consultation from and "expert" if one existed in our field from CASA. CASA would have the ability and power to employ and educate some person who would have the skill and "empathy" for our branch of aviation. In my "heart of hearts" I honestly don't believe that CASA have that state of mind. Nev

So no communists Nev? Damn, I was even starting to look for a link between the board and the JFK assassination 075_amazon.gif.0882093f126abdba732f442cccc04585.gif

Where would we be in life without a good conspiracy theory or two....

Dear forum

In line with complete honesty am happy to openly state that I am a freemsaon.

My membership of freemasons has never affected my decisions on the board of RA-Aus. I have never been approached to vote in line with any other freemsaon based on my membership of that organisation and I could truthfully say I that I do not know for certain who is even a member of the "craft" on the board of RA-Aus.

To me freemasonry is the only activity that I have exclusively shared with my now aging father. All other activities with him were shared with my brothers and sister, so freemasonry is very important to me for that reason. I might add that other activities I shared with my father included scouting as apparently that might be questionable as well.

While I am here I will openly state that I am a buddhist as I noted that was also included in these posts and I wouldn't want anyone saying I keep things secret. I am not a communist though, sorry.

Regards

There's an e-mail floating around that links the board to some goings on with dingos at the big pebble and Harry Holt's last swim... augie.gif.8d680d8e3ee1cb0d5cda5fa6ccce3b35.gif

Off topic, but Scouting is definately dodgy Gavin. The last time I took my Cub Scouts on a camp, I encouraged 7 year olds to light cooking fires.

Jeez fellas, I have always thought that I have missed out.I have never been invited to a Free mason's BBQ or anything. I really thought that there was a lot of secret squirrel stuff that happen between them. (Can one of you Freemasons guys explain what the "secret hand shake " is all about ?) Also the goat riding thing? I did see a little segment on TV about a free mason joint in Brissy with some dude wearing a Robe or something.

I am starting to think that the Free mason's society is like having a "Mans shed" before Mans sheds became popular.084_chase.gif.a3cab873b9247ad7d295882b8a53a985.gif

Dazza they also do an excellent job of helping out the often aged widows of their fallen brothers, a bit like legacy, not much to do with squirrels though.

That is good to hear. I think there is a Freemason building at Burleigh Heads. I think it was built in 1968 or something like that. I have walked past it a few times. It sounds interesting. To be quite honest, I didn't realize that there where so many members around. I thought that it was very secret type of thing.

To my shame I remained silent after the departure of the previous Techman, Steve Bell, a generous and decent man. How must he feel after all his efforts on our behalf? Suddenly he wasn't there. No explanation, but the rumour mill filled the vacuum. Was he ever given an opportunity to defend himself?

How can our Association attract people of quality if we treat them so badly? Money isn't the only way to reward good service.

Steve to me was totally what he was. Nothing sinister. I ask how many techmen have been sent packing as a scapegoat. Nev

In my opinion they were sent packing because they operated autonomously, and particularly independent of the members

In a small employed group it would be unusual for a Technical manager to be supervised by someone with an equal or better technical understanding

So in day to day operations he would be free to get into dark waters involving big expenditure and a monumental work load.

In an organization where the member apathy is so great that they just allow the Executive to run the show, the spiral picks up speed, since you have to be lucky for them to have technical experience.

In an organization where the Executive not only run the show, but don't communicate with the members who own the Association you get a disconnect from Manufacturer Members and others who do have technical skills, and the spiral picks up more speed.

Because the Technical Manager has been operating autonomously, you have a very clear victim.

The answer is first to ensure good two way communication between the Technical Manager and the members through the channel of the Office Manager (recently redescribed as General Manager)

This needs to be in the form of brief weekly summary reports, and monthly reports, (and he doesn't need the distraction of writing a story each month for the magazine)

His work schedule needs to be set by and approved by the members - who are paying for him, and may be paying large amounts at times for technical projects such as LSA.

By that I don't mean that 13,0000 people have a ballot three times a month, but that the Committee come up with the year's programme, and keep up to date with RAA strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

This dovetails in with the very positive thread started by Pete Greed which looks at the proactive method of managing vs the reactive model operating today.

passed the used by date...

Not at all CFI, ity's a very noble organization, started around the time of the Knights Templar.

If you know why the steps to the crypt of Rosslyn Chapel were worn down by thousands of feet in ancient times, you'll know they are sitting on a bombshell which could let go at any time with increasing research sped up by the digital age.

The Freemasons would become very topical then.

Notwithstanding a bit of occult, witchcraft and Satanism at the higher degrees.... but what's this about 'fallen brothers' is there a military connection as well as the religious one? 075_amazon.gif.0882093f126abdba732f442cccc04585.gif

I doubt that you'll find any occult, witchcraft or Satanism. On the contrary it has a strong affinity to God.
