Thruster87 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 The man flying the 3 kites is in his 80’s, and he's from Canada. He comes to the Washington State International Kite Festival every year. His skin is like leather as he normally flies with his shirt off. He is deaf, so when he flies we hold our hands up and wave them for applause. He flies 2 kites with his hands and the 3rd one is attached to his waist. Enjoy! The music is just perfect for his performance! http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=nr9KrqN_lIg
cscotthendry Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 What a GREAT clip. That is my absolute favourite piece of music. It is the Flower Duet from the opera Lakme. The voices sounded like Elena Garanca and Anna Netrebko. If you are interested in the music, there is a great clip of these two drop dead gorgeous women singing this duet with a full orchestra on YouTube. 3
pj8768 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Ahh.....the ability to relax and enjoy the simple things in life - like fly a kite and not worry about the shirt and sunscreen!

According to the credits, that was our own Dame Joan. The one you posted with Elena and Anna was even better. That was sublime. RAAus may be able to stop me getting back to the Great Eastern Fly-in this year, but no amount of ineptitude from them can prevent me enjoying the finer arts. Music like that can get you soaring without wings. Just for El Ratto's sake, Romancing the Wind doesn't mean finding a woman who will put up with you farting in bed.
planet47 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Regardless I appreciated the kites and the singing!!!!
farri Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Thank you Thruster87. Truely impressive! I enjoyed it. Frank.
