What is the likely effect on the value of aircraft formerly 24 registered factory built?
rankamateur Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 Want to make your head hurt? Read a bit of this http://flysafe.raa.asn.au/regulations/regulations.html to try and find the answers to my question. Edit : and it all became as clear as mud! ' ... note that 'the Regulations' contains many 'regulations' within it. In other words, Regulations means the whole statutory document; a regulation is a particular kind of part of it. The Regulations are divided into Parts, each Part dealing with a particular topic. A Part may be divided into Subparts, and a Subpart into Divisions. Divisions are divided into regulations, but a Part or Subpart can also be divided directly into regulations (that is, a Part need not have Subparts, and a Subpart need not have Divisions). An individual regulation may be divided into subregulations, a subregulation into paragraphs and a paragraph into subparagraphs. A regulation that is not divided into subregulations can be directly divided into paragraphs.'

Camel Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 The main uncertainty of LSA is the manufacturer has an appointed person who declares the aircraft conforms to the standards (ASTM) when they disappear for some reason someone else has to take it up or the aircraft is no longer a factory built LSA but an ELSA (experimental LSA ) or in the case that RAA is having now is someone else says that the plane does not comply to ASTM standards and again back to ELSA. Also no modification without the approval of the manufacturer. This link may help explain. http://www.astm.org/COMMITTEE/F37.htm
Deskpilot Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Many of us learnt to fly in an LSA. A Jabiru LSA55. No problems there me thinks. (AN LSA) phonetically correct.
