Hi.

New member here just started training. I started on a drifter a few years back And now leaning in a lightwing. Lets just say it is quite clear it has been a while.

Hiya Marc,

I agree emphatically with Mr. Tornado, the weather MUST be good for it. . . . My Mate Ivan has just facebooked me to let me know he's staying on the GOld Coast for an EXTRA two weeks. . . ! He's conned Emirates into switching his flight for a later one the lucky sod. . . . .

Welcome and I'm also envious about the lightwing too, have not flown one, but would very much like to, providing they make an industrial size variant for the . . . . Larger Pilot.

Let us know how you get on with training mate.

I am a plus sized model myself and it is fine in the lightwing i had the same thoughts but i am quite happy with it only real issue is where the trim lever is i have to move my leg every time my instructor adjusts it. but with any luck i shouldn't have to deal with that for to long.

As for the weather i cant say i have been working out at Chinchilla for the last week apart from the 130mm of rain we got in 3 hours on the weekend it has been ok here.

Ah, a Queenslander, that's all the better (ah, I see you've updated your profile). I'm assuming at the chicken farm with John W? He's a good bloke.

Cheers, Alan

I Like the lightwing, from what I've seen and read about it, but don't know the internal control layout. I sometimes have an issue with the pitch trim wheel mounted between the narrow seats in early model Rans 6 types, as the wheel is located partly " in the shadow" of my posterior. . . . ( ! ) Sounds like you had a good downpour, . . .I found 250mm of fresh snow on my work car park this morning. . . . . I think I prefer the rain. . . . . .
