alanbarlee Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hi Folks, I've belatedly joined the site, bringing 12 years of flying and instructing experience with Steve and Lisa Ruffels' Eagle School of Microlighting at Bright (YPOK) in NE Victoria. (I'm Lisa's dad). I'm an active pilot with an XT912 Cruze aircraft, who relishes flying at one of Australia's premium tourist locations, where windy days are the exception rather than the norm - Victoria's spectacular high country. (I've also posted a thread in the microlight section, in which Eagle School is offered for sale, following Steve's very sad and unexpected death late last year). I also have a brother, Roger, who buys, makes and flies various GA aircraft, these days out of the LaTrobe Valley airfield. I'm looking forward to sharing your posts. 1
joeyo68 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I was up that way recently, stayed at the Freeburgh caravan park, and saw a few microlights flying around. Went up past the Porpunkah airstrip a couple of times also. to the forum
facthunter Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 My son, ( One of) lives in Porepunkah. I've been to the aerodrome quite a few times. I know George Hempenstall who had a Sapphire there till a while ago. Keep an eye on those fires. Nev
CrayonBox Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hi Alan, Welcome! I look forward to seeing you here frequently :) (Stewart - Hervey Bay).
Guernsey Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Welcome to the Forum Alan, looking forward to some new Bright Ideas. Alan.
facthunter Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 It is said that Bright is where the people aren't. ( Until you have been to Oh Me Oh )... Nev
CrayonBox Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Bright is beautiful, and a wonderful place to fly. Very much worth a visit. Check my photo, over the snow on the mountain flying with Alan. http://alltrikes.com/elgg/photos/image/6858/demo-flight-over-mt-feathertop-vic
sfGnome Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I go down there each year to ride pushbikes up stupidly steep mountains (but my eyes always seem to be on the sky... ). Lovely place to live!
