Carb temperature probe - I think

Hello everyone.

I'm new on this forum, so I hope I'm getting this right!

I have an SU HIF 44 Carburetor installed on my VW aero engine conversion.

While trying to find out why the carb isn't running right, I found what I believe to be a carb temperature probe at the rear of the carb body, installed just behind the butterfly valve.

The cable has been cut, so I think it is unserviceable (my aircraft is a Rand Robinson KR2 & doesn't have a carb temperature gauge - yet!) so my guess is that the carb came from a previous installation.

As you can see from the picture, I've cut back the sleave which reveals a single strand white wire filiment of some sort.

I'd like to know if anyone recognises the probe / sender, which carb heat gauge it would suit and knows where I could get a replacement.

Any help welcome!

Thanks

Shaun
