coljones Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 What's the impact for recreational pilots ? The finals are not up on the web yet but the draft of Part 61 can be seen here http://www.casa.gov.au/scripts/nc.dll?WCMS:PWA::pc=PARTS061 The draft provide for a Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) - the substance of Part 61 may differ from the draft, as amended after extensive consultation. It would be worthwhile waiting for the paperwork to go up on http://www.comlaw.gov.au/WhatsNew as the draft says things like "(b) in accordance with {provisions to be drafted in Parts 103/149}," accordingly there will be some devil in the detail. 408059 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Col The Regulations are up on the ComLaw web site. Over 700 pages at last count. Cannot see any transition clauses yet but will keep on looking. It will be interesting to see how they implement the changes. There are a few Commonwealth Agencies 'crashing' through legislation in the lead up to the election but this one surprises me, unless it was already in train. From what I see there are a couple more twists in the RPL compared to the draft but otherwise reasonably consistent. cheers Steve 1
shu77 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I have to say I'm interested in the transition process and whether it will allow for CTA entry or use of aircraft over 600Kg.
ben87r Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Wonder how they will go with implementing it all. Cold get interesting when they still get the basics wrong.
