derekliston Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 As some of you already know, I am rebuilding a Savannah tailplane to fit to my CH701. Can someone please tell me what the elevator movement limits are for the Sav? 701 drawings call for 28-30 degrees down which I am having difficulty achieving (I will achieve it but am curious as to Sav) I think that becuase of the different shape the elevator hinge line is lower and hence the control horn impacts on the upper rudder mount at less deflection. Up elevator is not a problem. Anything you can tell me will be much appreciated.
John Nooyen Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Mine is an old kit 222. Attached is the page from the manual. Cheers
derekliston Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Thanks John, that is helpful and much appreciated.

Perhaps you could private mail John, a member on this site named JG3, if you had any further questions. Alternatively, you could look at his website: http://stolspeed.com/tail-feathers
derekliston Posted February 22, 2013 Author Posted February 22, 2013 Thanks for that, I have seen Hans's at Kilcoy and flown with him and he was in fact the inspiration for changing my tailplane, but I didn't look at his installation in any great detail. I am now achieving the required elevator movements. I am just about ready to paint but need the weather to dry out a bit before I do that.

Will you post a picture of your plane when it's all done?
