Tomo Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 My brother Brady and I flew down to Avalon for the airshow this year, was a fantastic weekend - was my first show of that scale and I was pretty impressed with the turn out of displays, not to mention people!! A big thanks to Ian for letting us stay at his house and for letting us use his car, and picking us up and dropping us off at the station at some pretty ridiculous hours of the day! Was a great time, and caught up with a few forumites, which was fun! Also Patrick from the forum here took me up to the tower and I watched the show from there for a little while, that was pretty awesome! So many thanks to you Pat, for doing that. I have video on my camera, but just haven't had time to do anything with it yet, so in the meantime I'll just give you a link to my brother Brady's flickr sight and you can view his photos of the show. Hope you enjoy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/50527022@N02/sets/72157632939398334/ 2 1
2tonne Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Hi Tomo, great pics. I was at the show with my two eldest boys, aged 4 and 6, and we had a fantastic day out. It was fun to watch them jump up and like crazy with excitement as the roulettes did their stuff - and even more fun watching their faces as the F-16 screamed off the runway! Wish I'd put my earplugs in for that one. The long day and heat on the Sunday meant they ran out of puff early in the afternoon, so had to leave before the F-22 - oh well, at least I have an excuse to visit the show next time!
Captain Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Tuesday Trade-Day with crappy weather and low ceiling. 1 pm airshow cancelled but 4 pm airshow was great.
kgwilson Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 That F16 in the last pic must be flown by a female pilot. You can see where she leaves her handbag.
