Guest Pontius Pilot Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I sinned and posted elsewhere before coming here. However, better late than never I'm an aviation bore and enjoy slipping the surly bonds in anything that enables me to. I'm here to boost the WA numbers and prove that not all aviation involves the 'other' coast
facthunter Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Welcome Pontius. Nothing wrong with WA. It was called the "State Of Excitement" once. What is it now? Nev
pudestcon Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Welcome PP, Nothing lke another Sandgroper to bolster the numbers; we need it! Where are you based and what do you fly mainly? Pud
Guest Pontius Pilot Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Hi Pud, Fly out of Bunbury for pleasure, where it's mainly GA at the Aero Club (a great bunch of people) or a locally-based A36. Away from Bunbury it's bigger stuff for the day job. I've been quite involved helping out with homebuilts etc in the past (okay, getting in the way on the build process) and have very, very, very tentative plans brewing in my head for building an RV8 if and when the mortgage disappears AND I've got more time on my hands
mAgNeToDrOp Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Welcome! From your Avatar you're a fisherman too (?), so you must be allright ;)
Guest Pontius Pilot Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Thank you, MD. Yes, I try but the Bunbury area doesn't very often give up the good fish to me. If you want rays caught then I'm your man but if we only survived on snapper or dhufish then I'd have been dead a long time ago Your avatar looks to be just about abeam Myalup, so if you're successful with the fish around these parts then you'll have to give me some tips
Guest Howard Hughes Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 prove that not all aviation involves the 'other' coast There's another coast? Great name by the way, funny you should pop up just before Easter!
slartibartfast Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Excellent name. Just like CASA - you're Herod's race, you're Herod's case. (reference to R44's and Jesus Christ Superstar - too obscure?) Regardless - welcome.
mAgNeToDrOp Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one, I am the king of blowfish and other inedible fish around those parts, rumour has it you have to go further south or closer to perth for some decent fishing, (that really narrows it down I know .. I've been invited out with some of the locals maybe then ill have better luck) still beats sitting in the office though. Spot on with the avatar! Might catch you around the aero club sometime.
