Ballpoint 246niner Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Just had to post this funny flight with a student on Saturday. While out in the local training area practicing PFLs , I was checking the students selection criteria and assessment of a gravel road for an emergency landing spot, he was unsure so we went through the six S's and gave it a go..... On final we noticed a person walking up the road, as we descended to minimum height it became apparent that the gentlemen was butt naked!, just out for a leisurely stroll in the morning sun. I was laughing so hard we almost forgot to climb out. I really wanted to use the subject line on the student - but thought the ensuing hysterics may have been too much for both of us! Every day offers up something different- today was no exception, turns out there is a nudist commune up the road so this guy was probably enjoying his walk "au naturale"until we descended down. We now have another S to add- STARKERS! And that's the naked truth.... 1 3
rdarby Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 That made me laugh! In the latest Sport Pilot there is an article from a student pilot who runs on somewhere, and wants to put an airfield on it.

Guest Maj Millard Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 He may have liked being landed upon !!...............reminds me of a story from Charles Lindberghs' "Wartime Diaries", when he was flying in PNG during WW2 as a 'non-combatant'. He was there as a technical adviser for Allison engines, to help the P-38 squadron pilots extend their range. Lindberghs work with the range extending led directly to the interception and shooting down of Yamamotos' Betty bomber far to the North. One morning he was out on a jolly in a Corsair (he had test flown them when they were being developed) flying low along the Northern beaches of the PNG coast, as you do. As he rounded a point he spotted a lone naked Jap solder on the beach ahead. The jap faced him and stood defiant, when he could easily have run. With just one squeeze of a button Lindbergh could have ended his defiance, but didn't, stating that he was impressed with his stature and physique !....Great read if you can get a copy.......book is called "The wartime diaries of Charles Lindbergh"...................................................Maj...

pmccarthy Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Years ago I was driving to Sydney on the Hume Highway and passed that parachuting field on the left about an hour out of Sydney. It was the nude parachute championship or something similar, anyway it was a surprising sight. Girls and boys both, though hard to tell with the harness.
dan3111 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 There is a few nudist camps west of donnybrook and have been there for years they used to complain when aircraft flew over but are pretty quiet of late .

Guernsey Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Reminds me of a case a few years ago where a neighbour adjoining the Truro Flats airpark (female) was hanging her washing out on the line dressed only in her bra and knickers. Her property sits well back from the road and is surrounded by trees so nobody could possibly see her???? until she heard a few people calling out "Good morning" to her, on looking up there was a low flying balloon full of tourists with cameras just above tree height. They had just departed our airfield and were drifting without the burner fired up. Not sure if any photos were taken. She is a good sport and thought it was rather funny at the time. Alan.
