dazza 38 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Howdy peeps. Just a reminder that if you have a multi coloured Dacron covered ultralight aircraft, you must test every colour. Different colours perish and fail at vastly different rates. The place to test is on the horizontal top surfaces where the UV damages the fabric. You can test underneath as well but it pointless as the underside will be in a lot better condition than the top. There is a 5 minute EAA Video that covers this topic quit nicely. Narrated by EAA member Brian Carpenter. Google- Dacron fabric testing EAA video. PS- I would put it on here but I don't know how to. 1 1
dazza 38 Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 According to the video Quicksilver aircraft make a tester for about $30 bucks, maybe a bit more now as the video is 2010 vintage.
