Ballpoint 246niner Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Archer Falls and work lads - have fun! It is the fly in season- keep them and the god weather coming
Kyle Communications Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Good to meet you Crayonbox. It was a rough flight home and a lot of dodging and weaving south of Gympie to get back to Caboolture but I had 2 experienced other Savannah drivers flying in front and beside me for company. Thankyou Bill and Bruce...I learnt a lot on the trip back 1
CrayonBox Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Great to hear you all got home. We left the field at around 1pm, and dealt with thermals and 9+ kts coming home, but being a sucker for punishment went out to the Sandy Straits to see the bay to bay yachts race coming in under spinnaker. Great day and good to finally meet some other flyers. Now the rain is nearly here...
Graham Pukallus Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Childers Well Done, ditto on the trip home Mark, not sure of being the aircraft leaving first as the approaching cloud front/SE Change coming through after Gympie, good communications and great crew. Here are some photos of the Childers Flyinn. 1
c722352 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Great day out. Well done Childers, slow journey home 50 knots all the way home and a few showers, all very enjoyable except the numb bum drifter syndrome.
FlyingVizsla Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Good onya Childers! We missed it again this year. Must make it in 2014 to catch up with the Club (we are members) and other forumites. Sue
rankamateur Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 That first photo looks like Savannah Central transplanted from Inglewood
CrayonBox Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 My Take on Childers Photos. The first one shows our early departure cutting through a slight fog layer. 1

I love it Graham, You and Val are living my dream! It was nice to meet you both at Inglewood, Val made a big impression on Jasmine.
Kyle Communications Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Hurry up and get that kit going Steve. Then you can join us all on these fly aways. I would love to go to Murgon and Gatton this weekend but duty calls...its the Mrs birthday and she has booked us in to the Hilton down at the Gold Coast for a few days so have to have my mind on other things this weekend....then I get the leave pass for Old Station.
rankamateur Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I think it left Italy last week, so I wouldn't expect to see it before the end of June.
