Guest steve-nz Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Got my first XC in today, was great - perfect conditions. And some video, not really much to look at 1500' over Canterbury Plains really - but was still a blast of a flight.
facthunter Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 How could you get lost with the main road there? What was the total distance? Looks like fun. How was the Christchurch wind? nev
Guest steve-nz Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Very true there, coming from RT we intersect the main road about Rakaia from memory. Distance each way was 49nm, wind was about 10knots and nice and calm. Biggest distance I have gone from the airfield by myself, so big leap from hanging round close to our airfield.
Jabiru7252 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Well, I thought there was no flat ground in NZ. Silly me. Thanks for sharing.
Guest steve-nz Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Heaps of flat ground, especially the Canterbury Plains, just you get some pretty good winds through as well at times - but nice place to fly tho.
Guest steve-nz Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 That is correct, LEI - will be taking her for a few laps this weekend as well all going good with weather.
