macedonranges Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Hi all my first thread. Been flying a LSA Texan club sport for the last 2 yrs and want to fly to the Gold Coast for a conference in August... Doing planning ok .. But wondering where people are flying into on the GC for a tie down week or so. . ? Heck Field or other... Also appreciate advice on best route over the great divide to the coast... I was planning Sunbury, yarrawonga, parkes, coonabarrabran, tamworth, Armadale, coffs harbour then coastal around GC control space to heck field. Appreciate any comments and advice. Cheers Rob
coljones Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Tamworth and Coffs are in controlled airspace. you might be better to substitute Gunnedah and Grafton
macedonranges Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Thanks for that advice - , does anyone have any input about YHEC ?
davebutler Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Hi Macedonranges, Look at: http://www.gcsfc.org.au/ Contact the resident caretaker Clive Ryan [email protected] Mobile 0403 038 239 Cheers DB
Aldo Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Mac For mine you would be better off going up the inland route to Moree (YMOR) then across to Warwick (YWCK) through Cunningham's Gap across to Boonah then to Hec Field, its shorter by 7 miles and a lot less time over the tiger country and you miss all the control zones. I have attached a couple of pdf's for reference. Don't rely on my route planning just for info.
