Does anyone know if there is an input device for a PC that is similar to the radio transmitter control box for R/C models?

I have MS Flight Simulator X Gold, and my husband - an old model flyer - would like to use a familiar input device rather than joystick or GA type controls. I have asked around locally, but our two gaming shops and the R/C model shop haven't heard of them.

Any help appreciated.

Not sure this would work with MSFS but read through it. It kind of works like the buddy system.

I know there were some Heli RC that included their own flight Sim program and connected via USB.

Sorry i just realised they no longer sell over the net and their store is in Germany.

Ebay has some though. For example http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RC-USB-Interface-Robbe-Futaba-FC-28-FMS-Simulator-NEU-/350586087061?pt=RC_Modellbau&hash=item51a08f2695&_uhb=1

You would need to find your controller version though.

I've done this before with my DX6i RC transmitter. I ordered an all-in-one style USB connector from Ebay and not only did it come with an adapter to USB, it (unexpectedly) also came with some RC sims (although I'm sure this is pirated software). It works with most brands of RC transmitters and I managed to get it working with FSX. If you need a TX too, then I would suggest the DX5e as a good, cheap reliable transmitter that will work with this.

If you want something cheaper then I suggest that you give this a look: http://www.heliguy.com/Flight-Simulators/ESKY-Flight-Sim/Dynam-RC-Flight-Simulator/. You should be able to find one on Ebay and for the price, they're pretty good value. It works as a normal USB controller.
