If you've got an hour to kill, this is a very interesting British documentary. Made in 1976, it includes commentaries from a number of well known WWII pilots such as Bob Tuck, Johnny Johnson and Douglas Bader, and covers the development of the Spitfire from the Schneider Trophy racers. There's an amazing interview with one elderly lady who flew a circuit in a Spitfire clinging onto the tailplane.

Thanks for that, rg. One of the best I've seen. Awesome to hear from the actual legends themselves, up close and personal. And I don't mean just the pilots; the real heroes- the people who built them.

Yes. The history of the Spitfire is well known of course, but it's the people in this documentary who really add that bit extra.
