Guest Maj Millard Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 When I get bored with the politics, (which is often lately!) I go and watch some Kermie cam. These are videos made by Kermit Weeks who owns and operates the amazing "Fantasy of Flight" located south of Orlando Florida. Kermit who was an inherited oil millionaire from a very early age, left high school to build his first aircraft and committed his life to aviation at that stage. He competed in unlimited aerobatic in his own design, the 'Weeks Solution' and took the US aerobatic championship a couple of times. At his Fantasy of flight facility he has amassed one of the world greatest collection of military and other historic aircraft including a B-29, DH Mosquito, Mustangs etc etc. He purchased his first warbird in 1977, and hasn't stopped since. He has recently procurred Howard Hughes Sikorsky S-34 which is enormously historic. He is basically spending his sizeable inheritance one histotoric aircraft at a time !...It is no surprise that his 250 acre facility was built from the ground up (after being damaged badly in a mid-90s Florida hurricane) to resemble a 1940s style US Army airforces base, complete with circa style hangars and red/white checkered water tower !.....this man has class by the bucketloads. Kermits aircraft are kept in flying condition, he is an accomplished pilot, and flies them himself often. Whenever he flys one, he straps on "Kermie-cam" and takes you with him in the cockpit. Suburb and very watchable footage !..Additionally you get a full pre-flight tour of the aircraft, and often includes a full inside look over, like in the rare DH Mosquito, which is currently on loan to the EAA museum in Oshkosh. Additionally his site links you to a massive library of WW2 military aircraft training films covering most bombers and fighters of the period, plus other fascinating military footage. Get to know Kermit and Kermie-Cam if you don't already......you won't be disappointed , and it beats the hell out of politics !.................Maj..... Devoted Kermie-cam addict !

Hi Maj, Totally agree! I was lucky enough to visit Fantasy of Flight a few years back when on a business trip to Orlando, and had a free day. Brilliant facility - definitely worth a visit if you can swing it. Featured plane of the day was a Fiesler Storch which did a demo of really slow flight. Went for a flight in the New(!) Standard D-25 - great fun. Also watch a lot of the Kermie Cam footage. Cheers Neil
