JG3 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Just a reminder to photocopy your pilot's and aircraft logbooks periodically. If you should lose them it's a real hassle..... JG 1
shu77 Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 http://myflightbook.com Great way of doing it. From the iphone app you can also track engine time, Take off and landing and flight path. Its also free. 1
Danger Mouse Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Scan your logbook and email a copy to yourself, not only does it give you a backup but means you can access it on a smart phone or smart device while out and about.
Downunder Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Perhaps with the new members section on the RAA website, we will be required to, in the future, supply a scanned copy of the past years flying when renewing our cert. This would replace the need to keep a personal copy.
Hongie Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Indeed. I have my hardcopy, spreadsheet online, and spreadsheet saved locally.
Yenn Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 why suggest that RAAus should have a scanned copy of our log books? They are not really good at using the info we already have to send them. More woul be a disaster. I don't know how many times I have had to tell them that my info is recorded incorrectly. The extra work burden on the office staff would be sure to cause more costs to the organisation. As for saving logbooks on the computer, just htink how many times you have had a computer go bad and lose all its memory. Just look after the original an maybe keep a hard copy.

I have always sent them a copy of the latest page at AFR time. But I also have a photo copy my latest page for me, when I finish that particular page. Probably don't really need it as they do record hours, from the previous AFR which isn't much in my case as I fly just for a hobby. But for a professional instructor, I would be photo copying the latest log book page every month at the end of the month.
