Hello fellow aviation people,

I wonder if anybody out there can help me, I've just bought an Raa registered aircraft which is in a hangar at Archerfield in Brisbane, as part of the change of ownership/transfer of registration I need to have a "condition report" done by a level 2 LAME,

Does anyone know of an unrestricted level 2 in the Brisbane area that is qualified and willing to do this, the aircraft is a Corben baby ace.. steel tube fabric covered, high wing tail-dragger, powered by a Continental A-65

It is not any more than a condition report. Has it been in regular use? You will need engine, airframe and prop log books. Swat up on everything (like placards etc) that need to be there and THEN see the L2. Welcome aboard, and happy flying. Nev

Hi there fact hunter, aircraft has not been flown since 2002, but has been started and inhibited regularly, all log books are in order and complete, aircraft has a current COA, all placards and rego numbers are in place, just need an L2, looking like I'll be hiring a truck, de-rigging the wings and bring it home to Bundaberg by road......how undignified

It is a nuisance but better not to put yourself under pressure to fly it. You can easily remove the small sump on that motor and clean it out thoroughly and replace it. There is a gauze filter near the oil temp sender which has to be lockwired after tightening. Don't overtighten or you can break it as there is not much thickness of metal. The continental is a reliable engine, but they are not new any more. Nev
