Guest steve-nz Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Just took delivery yesterday of my Pioneer Alpi 200. Was ferried from Dunedin area, was to come to Rangiora but fog on Saturday made that flight divert to Ashburton just south of Christchurch. Yesterday morning was a beautiful day here, so I flew my instructor down there in my Jabiru 450, dropped him off, then headed back to NZRT - he left there about 20 minutes later, just after I landed at Rangiora I heard the call PKT overhead for rejoin.... wow about 2 minutes behind me :-) Did a couple of flights with instructor yesterday afternoon in the Alpi, very nice plane to fly, still got a bit of work to get checked out to that one, but loving it.

Guest steve-nz Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 hi steve, very nice, p 200 is great machine to fly, what didn't you like about the jabiru 450 Main thing was room inside the 450, max AUW is 449kg as well so 2 up and no fuel for trips. I do like the jabiru, has taught me well considering I only started late Jan this year.
frank marriott Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 What is a 450? Is it like a J120? Google search looks like a 120
planedriver Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Well done Steve, looks like a great a/c with my "reserved" tag on the r/h seat. Take care, and good luck with your familiarisaation flights. Kind Regards Planey

Google search looks like a 120 Hey there, the 450 from what I understand was made for the UK market - has very long wings (aka more like a glider on approach :-) Some info on type: http://www.sky-craft.co.uk/acatalog/Jabiru_UL-D_Aircraft.html
Guest steve-nz Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Just a couple more pics: And my Jabiru in the shot as well:
