On June 1st a group of four Jabiru's started out from Gippsland in Victoria to fly around Australia. I have set up a web page so that interested parties may track their progress. The group have been stuck in northern Queensland for over a week now due to inclement weather.

If you wish to check on the group's progress see http://www.darylhooke.com/oz/

Except that they got stuck for near a week at Innisfail QLD due to the shocking rain of late. (Sorry Nelson)

Regardless, say hello to Robin and Barbara, they did the Megafauna with us last month and mentioned this trip.

Ok, Different Darryl, but I'm pretty sure that Jabiru 4699 is on that trip.

Ok, I could have seen that from your website . . .

It just so happens that Thi and I will be around Darwin-Katherine from 22-28th July. If your weather delays have you around Darwin that week, it'd be great to catch up and get some photo's.

Cheers,

Glen

Yep I'm the Daryl that flew the Jabiru Tailgragger last year on Megafauna

And you are correct Barbara and Robin are with the group....unfortunately I'm not. Just posting info on the webpage as it comes back to me from the group.

The updates must have been forgotten! They made it back after spending around 14+ days in northern Queensland waiting for the rains to clear!

I'd be more concerned about being 'hung' in QLD for 2 weeks! As nice as it is and all.
