I fitted the new Jab Scimitar prop today and am quite impressed with the performance compared with the old wooden prop. It seemed to TAS around 5 knots quicker at same revs. I also had the cold start kit fitted so no more embarrasing lids off on cold morning starts! I would imagine there has been a rush on those kits as there was a bit of a wait. Cheers.

I reckon the "120 knots at 20 litres per hour" means " choose one.." The misery meter on 24-7595 says I burn around 35-40 litres per hour to get 120 knots 046_fear.gif.84b83182244bd664b8a3a0c1e803f021.gif . Around 2850 rpm. I am now thinking of both mods.... although it is starting first go at the moment..... 001_smile.gif.2cb759f06c4678ed4757932a99c02fa0.gif. Not after a night out freezing usually. Cold start kit first then......

Gee , that sounds a bit excessive for a 3300 . Those figures would indicate full power on take off & climb out .

For 2850 should be reading about 22 ish lt/hr

Sure your taco is ok ?

Full throttle should give 138 knts ish depending on hight above sea level

Somthing doesn't sound right ! Have you calibrated your fuel flow , hrs flown , fuel used ect. ?

Cheers Mike

With jab engines fuel is cheap, dont try to run too lean

2900 sees 127 kts @ 27 lph in j200. Bolly 2 blade, very similar to new Jabiru option, done 150 hrs +.

That sounds pretty much like mine. I was TAS 122knots @2800 and around 23 lph.

I,ve done around 25 hrs with the new jabiru fibreglass prop in the 230, Very happy, better balanced which gives smoother running, Climbs better and gives maybe 3-4 knot better cruise. I have a proptach 3 digital rpm readout and a fuel flow meter which are both very accurate. Cruise 2850-2900, 23-24 lph, TAS 123.
