DGL Fox Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 AHHH floating magic carpet..yes of course Nev..
facthunter Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Magic carpet the only way to go.... You could dry lease it. Perhaps that wooden suit the owner. Nev 1
dazza 38 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I don't know about carpet FT, could you imagine the stench after it got wet.. David I agree David, carpet really stinks when it gets mouldy after getting wet , although it is a quick solution to covering dirt in a hangar I guess.
facthunter Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 It keeps dust down. I've used it but never had it wet. People shouldn't pee in hangars. (And I mean it) Nev
fly_tornado Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 probably would pay to put some gravel under the carpet to keep it dry or make sure that stormwater drains are fitted
Lior Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 The Israel Air Force Museum can help answer your question. It's got 100+ planes outside in the desert all year round. The only thing left of the Mossie there is its Merlins.
geoffreywh Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 carpet on gravel works fine, when it rots away. 5-7 years ? put new over the top.....at least you can find stuff when you drop it. try that on gravel or dead grass........
facthunter Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Have to agree with that. Carpet on gravel, works. nev
Peter G Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 This stuff looks great to use as a floor but not sure what they charge and its Aussie made too http://www.profloor.com.au/products/portable-roadway/ cheers Pete
Gnarly Gnu Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Artificial grass is better than carpet, not so free though.
Jabiru Phil Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Have to agree with that. Carpet on gravel, works. nev I have carpet on gravel. I noticed recently that there was heaps of condensation under the hood. Lame suggested that I lay plastic under the carpet. Will do before next winter. Just to add, I also cover the Jab with a sheet over the front area and screen to help with the dust. Maybe this helps the condensation? Phil
