Hi!

 

I'm new to this site, but some others should recognize me from other aircraft and model airplane sites. Why Himat? Well I did see a picture of the Rockwell Himat back in the 1980'ies and the airplane fascinated me. My interest is very much all kind of airplanes, but I do constrain myself to building and flying model airplanes. RC (Remote Crash) is convenient when trying out unorthodox designs.

We need your experience on this forum! There are quite a number of builders here. We have finished one project and thinking about the next..... I think it is a disease.

Hi Himat . Yesterday a guy came to see me, seeking permission to use my property, for flying model aircraft. The models he and other members of his club fly, are not the baby ones.

 

I havn`t seen any of the fixed wing ones yet but he told me they are pretty big models. I did see his helicopter and I`m impressed. The engine is a turbine and would fit in the palm of the hand. That alone cost $5,000.00. My current Rotax 503 DCDI only cost me $4,400.00.

 

I gave permission and I`m keen to see them fly.

You lucky bugga Frank...would be great to see. Years ago when I was learning to fly at Shepparton, one of the great side benefits was being there when Pip Boorman (RIP) was practising...it was a free air show just being there each time.
