The one thing that I have tried to maintain over the last 10 years of this site's existence is for it to be at the forefront at providing you with the absolute BEST user experience by using the absolute latest technologies but always mindful of the user's preferences and capabilities.

Unlike other sites, this site has continued to achieve an experience for its users that satisfies their needs by way of interactive information exchange to provide:

1. Increased knowledge in safety when flying

2. Increased knowledge in proper aircraft maintenance

3. Increased knowledge to improve our flying skills

all in an easy to use, friendly and exciting environment that is always available to you 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. This has been achieved by being in somewhat of constant evolution in the technologies I use on the site...some may think this could be a negative in some ways however overall, and for those that have been with the site for the last 10 years will know, generally it has been a great positive...especially when you see what the site was 10 years ago.

Lately, web design has seen some harrowing times with the proliferation of mobile devices of all different shapes, sizes, operating systems and more so continual development is needed if one is to keep on top of these times. Professional web developers will tell you the answer in 2013 is a web design concept called "Responsive Design". In short, this is a complete change to the way code is written that will present the data to your screen no matter what shape, size etc your screen may be.

It has been a long and hard process however Recreational Flying is again at the forefront by the site being completely recreated using Responsive Design. Anyone that is using a mobile device whether it be a mobile phone, an Ipad, a Netbook, an Apple device, an Android device, a Windows device, will see a much more improved and pleasurable viewing experience AND you can access the entire site and everything in it no matter what device you use.

I hope you like the fruits of the labour and are enjoying a much better user experience than ever before here on Recreational Flying.
