Guest Maj Millard Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Aviation to me is an amazing area of interest, even if your not a pilot. Quite amazing how classic aircraft designs just keep coming back if you hang around long enough. For instance the 'new' built Bucker Jungmeister which was one of the finest aerobatic biplanes ever built in the 30s and 40s of last century, and the great footage on the GeeBee QED aircraft which appears to be with us again in stunning replica form in the US. Both aircraft rebuilds can be viewed by clicking on the 'videos' section of this forum.......Maj...
pylon500 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 To say nothing about the Bugatti racer replica being built in the US.
bexrbetter Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Would you consider that since planes are generally expensive that people who can afford them are more likely to buy their 'dream' plane?

pylon500 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Sam Ls ...its like a baby Yak/Chang with a bit of Chipmunk Not too bad, will be better once they put the tailwheel in the right place
Marty_d Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Chipyak or Yakmunk? The canopy is a bit Harvard too... I go for the Chipvard.
Marty_d Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 To say nothing about the Bugatti racer replica being built in the US. How the hell do you land that thing??? And yes, "fast" and "carefully" come to mind, but it just looks like it wants to tip onto the prop at the drop of a hat.

Most dedicated 'racers' do require special skills to operate them, they generally are not your average machine............
facthunter Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Bugatti...Built to fly fast. The engine is probably down the back and the over the fence speed is probably about 140 knots. nev
damkia Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Not too bad, will be better once they put the tailwheel in the right place It's a canard pusher design
pylon500 Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 It's a canard pusher taildragger. Of course, I should have picked up on that......
