djpacro Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Personally, I thought it was a waste of time. 1
Bandit12 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Best to share some reasons why DJP (if you have a spare moment). Not everyone has the same experience with spins.
djpacro Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Sure happy to do that, as I said "personally" - seen lots of stuff like that over the years. Others may comment wrt the context of this thread or DrZoos may want an opportunity to state why it is worth watching.
facthunter Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 It is just an aircraft being spun and a little non too scientific comment on rudder application. There is a lot of stuff like that out there and it certainly varies as to it's worth. My view is simple with stalls and spinning. The form of stall practice we get is close to useless as when you do kill yourself from a stall it won't be anything like the ones you learned. Spinning is similar. Copybook spin entry is prescribed to enter a spin cleanly. IF it's going to shudder and shake for a few turns then fall out of it it's not going to show much. IF you enter an unintended spin other than when manoeuvring for an approach in normal ops. you would be pretty unlucky sooo... The most likely spin is at low altitude in the circuit and if it goes more than the incipient phase you will be dead. Learn all about spinning by all means, but apply your knowledge to exit the situation prior to stalling or worse autorotation., or you will lose too much height to recover. Nev 4
