Old Koreelah Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Great news! There is still hope for old farts like me with declining cognitive function. Just caught up with the first episode of Todd Sampson's "Redesign my Brain". He shows how we can quickly improve our mental performance, which must be good news for anyone flying a plane. I was surprised at the decline in peripheral vision as we age, but he shows that can be reversed. ABC-TV on Thursday nights at 8:30, and iView. 1 1
facthunter Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Never give up. Peripheral vision is a rods and cones thing . It often happens at night first. Your peripheral diminishes most under poor light conditions initially. Macular degeneration seems to be more relevant in most cases as you age. Your general health seems to be a determinant . Nev
Bandit12 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Highly recommend "Lumosity" for cognitive training - it is one of the few that actually has decent research behind it and is cheap compared to most.
