gareth lacey Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hi Guys who is the best company to deal with re insuring a plane pitfalls , etc and how real is the insurance i.e do you get the real cost back any feedback appreciated its getting close need to get a cost cheers Gareth
Kyle Communications Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Only good experience with QBE at this stage Gareth...couldnt ask for better service I got mine through a broker but it is QBE who is the insurer
Jaba-who Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I'd agree with Kyle C. I have nothing but good things to say about QBE I pranged a plane in 2009. Fixed and flying again in 3 months. All paid without problem complaint or question by QBE. But if I can give any advice - go through a broker. They can get better deals, get clauses and extras thrown in. And can advise you on pitfalls etc. 1
gareth lacey Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks Guys we went through a broker and plane is now insured cheers gareth
Kyle Communications Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I went through Geoff Tonkin at PSB Insurance Brokers…have been very happy with their service [email protected] 08-82672875 1
gareth lacey Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 we went through Bill Owens Brokers 0746538207 cheers gareth 1
Russ Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 QBE no contest. Easy as, I,ve never had to make a claim, but acquaintance has, and he reported everything was sorted really well.
magishme Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 What does it cost to insure a plane these days?
gareth lacey Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 For a $85,000 cost it is $3400 all inclusive full comprehensive cheers Gareth 1
Kyle Communications Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Mine was $1850 for $60,000 but I went for the 2 million pax indemnity that was another $400 per year but the premium reduced by 10% each year for 3 years without any claim.......well that bit went out the window last year Mark
magishme Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Pricing isn't as bad as I though it would be. Thanks Gents.
gareth lacey Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 QBE priced us out , only 2 companys would insure the Morgan cheers Gareth
magishme Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Who were they Gareth? I am interested in the Morgan because of the cruise speed is great.
Kyle Communications Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Big difference between the performance of a lightwing to a morgan
alf jessup Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Just over $2K for 100k full comp on my Tecnam Sierra through Alliance
Big Kev Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 So roughly, how do things pan out with: A newby and taildragger Lightwing; or A newby and taildragger scratch- built? Cheers Kevin
SDQDI Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Tail draggers bump it up and obviously pilot hours make a big difference
SDQDI Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 We went with allianze through a broker. QBE was way too expensive I'm very low hours and its a tail dragger but QBE was 3 thousand more expensive than allianz and didn't want to cover as much so was a very easy choice to make 1
