Thruster87 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Any specific requirements for rigging the elevators. With stick in the center is the deflection equal up and down from elevators parallel to boom. Cheers
Guest TOSGcentral Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Yes, it is equal up and down - 30 degrees each way. As that can be difficult to measure an alternative is to use a ruler and from neutral elevators you should have 12.5" plus or minus one inch at the point of maximum chord. Two points - make sure the male/female drive connectors are not worn and giving you play. Also that the elevator circuit is correctly tensioned. All of the information you are asking for, and a heap more, is in the Owner's Handbooks for the various Thruster types - that is why I wrote them. Tony
Methusala Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 TOSG membership? Tony, could you please tell me what is the cost of TOSG membership and Thruster manuals, thanks Don.
Thruster87 Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 Hi Tony, I bought the Converting to Tailwheel A/c [excellent read] and the TST operating Handbook from you not long ago and the handbook doesn't give any rigging procedures nor anything else with respect to the elevators only the ailerons. Is there another manual/handbook which has these procedures in more detail. Cheers
Guest TOSGcentral Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 HMMM! Thruster 87. Refer to page 61 of your handbook and it has the elevator, aileron and rudder travels relevant to your aircraft. Go to page 62 and it gives the correct elevator tension and method of doing this (something the Thruster factory never gave anyone! Don. Membership of TOSG is $30 per annum and is basically to cover the costs of producing and mailing four quarterly bulletins to each member. These usually run to around 22 pages (usually more) with an equal number of illustrations. The costs of the handbooks, including postage, is $55. Specify which one you want: Alll single seater types & models; All TST models: All Gemini models; & the T300/T500. All manuals are approx 200 pages with types illustrated plus explanatory diagrams. Aye Tony
Thruster87 Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 Hi Tony looks like I don't have that manual I only have the thin Pilots Operating Handbook and A/C flight manual plus a copy of the original manual issued with the aircraft. To order that specific manual what should I specify when ordering [is it the Thruster Two Seat ID Guide Information manual] Cheers
Guest TOSGcentral Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 T87 - No not the ID guide. I did put quite a bit of technical information in but the prime purpose was to list all the legal retrofit options available to assist in the compliance part of UACRs. This was part of a 'backroom' deal I worked out with the AUF Tech office to get some sanity back into a quite convoluted situation. That guide does tell you how to identify all of the two seaters though as what is on the registration documents may be quite different from what owners actually have - particularly if retrofit mods have been done. As you have a TST then you need the "Thruster Type Handbook - TST, TST L & TST E" Tony.
Thruster87 Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 Tony, Would it be possible to buy it online either from the TOSG site or here on this web store maybe? [Do you accept paypal if so then I'll have one now] Or just send the cheque like last time to you Cheers
Guest TOSGcentral Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 No I am afraid I keep things very simple as this is a niche market done mainly for specialised support and turnover is very low. Just money order or personal cheque to: Tony Hayes Training Systems, MS336 Toogoolawah 4313 Tony
Thruster87 Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 Hi Tony,How much is this manual for TOSG members including postage Cheers
