slartibartfast Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Here's a culled collection of my pics from the (extended) weekend. The view of the Snowys leaving Cooma. It was -6 at the airport. Valley mist near Mittagong The Oaks. A beautiful day for flying, but it's wet down there. The view was OK. Brooklyn Bridge Woy Woy Still a lot of water west of Newcastle IFR (I follow railways) at 1000 AMSL. What fun! Camden Haven - not a bad spot for an airstrip. Scenically at least. The tie-down and camping area next to the river. The river flows into the lake just a bit downstream With beautiful beaches nearby. I could live here. Rob getting the blood off the vampire. My chariot in good company. Picturesque or what? We considered building a fire under this. Briefly. Bowling green or runway? The beautifully maintained strip. Sealed taxiway, big hangars, idyllic setting - check, check, check. Looking back to the camp site. The perfect runway. A floatplane did a low pass at one stage, but didn't drop in. The shop and lunch getting underway. Numbers starting to build. Not a bad spot for lunch. Good company. Jack's Tornado. Isn't she beautiful? An R44 dropped in. And a few trikes. A Hornet with swollen glands. Mmmmmm - Cheetah. The old and the new for Matt and Kaz. Ian lends an ear to Paul and Jack. He is that generous. Even sunset doesn't slow them down. Inside the Strikemaster. Looks easy doesn't it? CT4 and the spare Strikemaster. The active Strikemaster. Rod put on an amazing display over the field with this puppy. Ian reunites with his old faithful Gazelle. Floatplane ramp. Matt and Kaz leave their CT4A alone with its new friend. Heading south again. There was some needle threading to do. The old wreck. And the new. Nearing the Hawkesbury again. Threatening but spectacular. Firing up the Tecnam for a Jab retrieval mission. If you enjoy the photos 1/100th of the amount of fun/adventure/comeraderie/experience I got from the fly-in, then all this work was worthwhile. See you all at the next one. Ross

rick-p Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Now that's what is all about, great pic's, looked like it was a great time. I thought that I would never say this as the drought up here has been so very painfull but the bloody rain (murphy's law) once again came for 10 days at the wrong time. At least I got to go to Old Station (Raglan) and see the Sabre disguised as a MIG, (Yen will appreciate this observation) Regards, Rick
